The Miloš Karadaglić Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the second cycle of scholarships, support programs, and grants, aimed at supporting exceptionally talented young artists and innovative projects in the fields of music and visual arts. The 2024/2025 cycle recognizes recipients across three categories: scholarships for education in the field of classical music education, support program for the audio-visual project and grant for funding and top-up funding of cultural and artistic projects.
The five-member jury, consisting of Miloš Karadaglić – guitarist and president of the Foundation (jury president), Sir Roger Wright, long-time director of BBC Radio and the PROMS festival, Šejla Kamerić – visual artist, Željka Udovičić Pleština – dramaturge and Ilija Subotić – director of the Montenegrin National Theatre, evaluated the applications on October 22nd in Tivat and selected the recipients of this year’s competition.
The awardees for the 2024/2025 cycle
Scholarships for education in the field of classical music:
* Simo Šišević, pianist and first-year master’s student at the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK in the class of Professor Tatiana Sarkissova
* Jelena Jovović, violinist and bachelor student at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria in the class of Professor Susanne Scholz
Support program for an audio-visual project:
* Miloš Pavićević, for his audio-visual project Soleil Levant (Sunrise), a solo guitar album inspired by the delicate beauty of impressionist music, featuring arrangements of works by Debussy, Ravel, Ponce, and Mompou
Grants for funding and top-up funding of cultural and artistic projects:
* Ballet group Ballo, for their choreodrama A Sequence of Destruction, which explores the emotional and psychological impacts of familial breakdown on younger generations
* Baroom Baroom, for their multimedia project Sound of Bridges, which aims to enhance the aesthetic and sensory experience of Montenegro’s historical bridges by adding a unique sound component using the Pure Data software
The Foundation awards the aforementioned scholarships, support programs and grants in collaboration with its partners Adriatic Marinas Porto Montenegro, One Crna Gora and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore.
